After years of hard work, the Economic Development Zone was rated as the "Top 20 Development Zones in China" by the Ministry of Commerce in 2018, and became the benchmark of Ganzhou’s opening up and economic development.
Liu Wei, deputy director of the Ganzhou Economic Development Zone Management Committee, said in an interview: "The Economic Development Zone focuses on cultivating strategic emerging industries such as new energy technology and electronic information, and attracts businessmen and young people to return to their hometowns through superior talent policies."

Funeng Technology, the first unicorn enterprise in Jiangxi Province located in the Economic Development Zone, mainly produces ternary lithium-ion power batteries and related products for new energy vehicles. Since it was registered in Ganzhou in 2009, Funeng Technology has become a leading enterprise in the same field. According to Xiong Dejun, R&D director of Funeng Technology, in order to adapt to the rapid outbreak of the new energy vehicle market, the company is increasing its investment in R&D and production capacity. The Zhenjiang factory with a total investment of 15 billion yuan is currently under construction, and it is estimated that the total domestic production capacity will reach 40GWh in 2020.

In addition to the new energy automobile industry, there are also many bright spots in the electronic information industry in the Economic Development Zone. Tongxingda Electronic Technology Co., Ltd., also located in the Economic Development Zone, mainly produces LCD modules such as LCD monitors and TFT-LCM modules, and provides products and services for many well-known smart phone companies in China, such as Huawei, OPPO and Xiaomi.
From 2015 to 2018, Tongxingda’s main business income increased steadily from 125 million yuan to 2,377 million yuan, driving more than 5,000 local employees.
Changing the mode of economic development is the fundamental way to promote high-quality development. The progress made by the Economic Development Zone in scientific and technological innovation industries has verified the actual achievements made by Ganzhou City in promoting high-quality development in recent years.
