  Hubei Provincial Department of Ecology and Environment, Economic and Information Department, Housing and Construction Department, Transportation Department and other departments held a press conference in Wuhan on the 12th to interpret and release the measures to promote the great protection of the Yangtze River.

  "The management of the ecological environment of the Yangtze River requires the linkage of departments, the coordination of upstream and downstream, and the left and right banks to achieve strength assembly and collective efforts." Hu Daoyin, Deputy Secretary-General of Hubei Provincial Government, said that in view of the problems in the water, shore and ground of the Yangtze River, Hubei has taken different measures to realize the vision of clear water, green shore and smooth river.

  According to reports, in water, the focus of ship pollution prevention and control is to promote shore power construction, ship renovation and discharge up to standard, and establish a supervision mechanism for receiving and disposing of ship pollutants; The protection and special treatment of drinking water sources will complete the environmental problems existing in centralized drinking water sources in cities at prefecture level and above. On shore, effectively curb agricultural non-point source pollution in 2020; Renovation of illegal docks will completely change the disorderly development of docks; After the illegal wharf is banned, the shoreline resources will be cleaned up and rectified, and the original appearance of the beach will be restored and the beach will be restored to the people. On the ground, the number of tailings ponds in the province should be controlled within 200 for 3 years; By the end of 2020, the harmless treatment of domestic garbage in cities (including counties) will be no less than 95%.

  "Chemical encircling the river" has always been a difficult point in the ecological environment management of the Yangtze River basin. Guo Tao, deputy director of the Hubei Provincial Department of Economics and Information, said that the province focused on fighting the tough battle of the chemical enterprises along the Yangtze River, and a number of enterprises moved new, tall, green and strong.

  By the end of October this year, Hubei had completed 196 chemical enterprises along the Yangtze River. The added value of the province’s petrochemical industry increased by 7.8%, the business sales revenue reached 433.78 billion yuan, up 3.2% year-on-year, and the profit reached 27.2 billion yuan, up 25.3% year-on-year.

  Jiang Yousheng, deputy director of the Hubei Provincial Department of Transportation, introduced that Hubei has started the rectification work of major tributaries such as Hanjiang River and Qingjiang River with the same standard. At present, the Hanjiang River has banned 252 illegal docks, standardized lifting docks 6, and Qingjiang River has standardized lifting docks 4.

  Hubei has promoted the construction of sand and gravel gathering centers, and built and operated 39 sand and gravel gathering centers with a total of 90 berths, with an annual throughput of 150 million tons. Tapping the potential of existing bulk cargo terminals, the annual handling capacity of sand and gravel terminals in the province reaches 300 million tons, which meets the demand of water sand and gravel loading and unloading in the market.

  Compared with 2015, from January to October this year, the excellent proportion of 114 surface water quality sections included in the national assessment in Hubei increased from 79.8% to 85.1%, and the proportion of inferior V decreased from 8.8% to 1.8%. The average cumulative concentration of PM2.5 in cities decreased by 33.3%, and the proportion of average excellent days increased by 6.4%.
