The average daily delivery volume of "double 11" is estimated to reach 490 million pieces. How much have you contributed?

Cctv news(Reporter: Xu Yeqing, Wang Jingyuan) On October 28th, the State Post Bureau held a special press conference on service guarantee in the peak season of express delivery business. According to Bian Zuodong, deputy director of the Market Supervision Department of the State Post Bureau, this year’s peak season covers 103 days from the beginning of November to the eve of the Spring Festival in 2021 (February 12). The peak of peak season will appear during the "double 11" period (from November 11th to 16th), and it is estimated that the daily average express delivery business volume will reach 490 million pieces, which is about twice the daily business volume.

"Crushing" the business volume of express delivery in North, Guangzhou, Shenzhen and Yiwu ranks first in the world.

According to the latest data from the Ministry of Transport, the average annual growth rate of express delivery business in China is over 30%, and the total volume and growth rate of express delivery business rank first in the world for five consecutive years. It is reported that in 2020, there will be nearly 60 express parcels per capita in China, which is about twice the global average.

The latest data from the State Post Bureau shows that 1-mdash; The city with the largest volume of express delivery business in September was not Beishangguangshen and Shenzhen, but Jinhua City, Zhejiang Province (with a total of over 5.9 billion pieces), ranking first in the world and one of the most concentrated foreign trade industrial belts in China. In addition, 1— In September, there were 10 cities with express delivery volume exceeding 1 billion pieces, which is the top ten cities in the list.

The courier is short of hands and has low income.

Over the years, the express delivery industry in China has maintained rapid development. In 2019, the national express delivery business volume exceeded 63.5 billion pieces, and the revenue growth rate of express delivery business was nearly four times that of the national GDP growth rate, and the express delivery business volume ranked first in the world for six consecutive years.

China Express Industry Social Contribution Report 2019 released by China Express Association shows that in 2019, the national express delivery enterprises served 350 million consumers on average, and the online retail sales of physical goods sent by express delivery exceeded 8.5 trillion yuan, accounting for 20.7% of the total retail sales of consumer goods in the whole society.

As express delivery has become an indispensable part of people’s lives, the market has created a huge demand for express delivery industry practitioners, but the number of couriers has been in short supply. According to the ranking of 100 jobs in short supply in the second quarter of 2020 released by the Ministry of Human Resources and Social Security on July 21, marketers, couriers and restaurant waiters have become the most short positions.

The shortage of couriers is not unrelated to their high-intensity work pressure. Previously, the "2019 National Professional Survey Report on Express Employees" (hereinafter referred to as the "Report") issued by China Post Express News Agency showed that express employees in China work 8-mdash every day; 46.85% of them work 10 hours a day. 12 hours accounted for 33.69%, and nearly 20% of employees worked for more than 12 hours.

According to relevant research, the shortage of couriers will exist for a long time to come. At present, the average daily delivery volume of express delivery in China is 250 million pieces. According to the current distribution efficiency, the gap of couriers will be around 1 million after 2021.

However, under such a high-load distribution pressure, the courier’s delivery cost is not optimistic. At present, the wages of couriers in China are usually piecework wages, which means that the wages earned are closely related to the quantity of pieces received and dispatched. According to the "Report", at present, the "Tongda Department" courier brother sends the most pieces per day. However, according to the latest financial report of Tongda Express Company, the receipt price of single ticket is generally higher in 2 yuan at present, which includes all the expenses of receipt, transit, trunk line and delivery.

According to the data of the State Post Bureau, although the express delivery business in Yiwu reached 5.972 billion pieces in the first three quarters of this year, ranking first in the country, the accumulated income of express delivery business in Yiwu in the first three quarters was 19.44 billion yuan, ranking only sixth in the country. Based on this calculation, the express delivery price in Yiwu is about 3.26 yuan/piece. In March of this year, some express scalpers in Yiwu even offered the price of "8 hairs nationwide".

On the one hand, the ever-increasing delivery volume of express delivery, on the other hand, the courier brother who is hard-working but short of manpower, once door-to-door service is difficult to fully guarantee, and the "last 100 meters" problem of express delivery needs to be solved urgently. Bian Zuodong said that at the peak of the peak season, the workload of couriers, especially delivery tasks, is often four or five times that of daily work. During the peak period, the express delivery time will be extended in some areas. Please be more tolerant of the express delivery time during the peak season, understand that the courier brother can’t deliver the goods upstairs as scheduled, and take more care of the tired courier brother.
