Classic works of Marxism — — "Draw ideological nutrition from it"
The works of Marxism-Leninism have always been an important part of the recommendation list given by the Supreme Leader General Secretary to party member cadres.
The supreme leader once pointed out that leading cadres should generally read books in three aspects. Among them, the first one is contemporary China’s Marxist theoretical works. While studying these works, the Supreme Leader also requested to trace back to the source and seriously study the works of Marxism–Leninism’s classic writers.
From communist party Declaration to German Ideology, Das Kapital and Critique of the Gotha Program, it is always the supreme leader’s insistence to "learn and make good use of the classic works of Marxism such as the communist party Declaration", and it is also his consistent requirement for the vast number of party member cadres, especially senior cadres.

"The Chinese nation has advocated reading since ancient times, paying attention to knowledge and sincerity, inheriting the endless spirit of the Chinese nation and shaping the self-confidence and self-improvement of the people of China." Last year’s Reading Day, in a congratulatory letter to the first National Reading Conference, the General Secretary expounded the significance of reading to inheritance.
Chinese culture has a long history and is profound, just like a treasure. Once explored, it will be useful for life.
When working in the local area, the supreme leader has the habit of reading local chronicles carefully. He once said: "To understand the important situation of a place immediately, we must understand its history. The reliable way to understand history is to look at the ambition. " "In the past, wherever I went, the first thing I did was to read local chronicles."
In 1980s, Zhengding County Committee of Hebei Province decided to compile Zhengding Ancient and Modern. "How can I make up this book? A clever woman can’t cook without rice! " The relevant staff searched everywhere and found no information, so they had to ask the supreme leader of the county party Committee secretary for help. The supreme leader said, "I have a complete set of Zhengding Prefecture Records and a set of Zhengding County Records, which all record the history of Zhengding in detail." And these ancient books are copies collected by the supreme leader himself, which are very rare.
